In 2012, after seeing a successful poster session at another conference, Becky Charles and I introduced the just a minute poster session. The goal of this was to ensure that there was a focussed point during the conference where delegates spent time viewing posters and discussing the content with the presenters, and to raise the profile of the posters more generally.
It worked, and has since grown into one of the most popular parts of the conference. This year there were 24 posters, 20 presenters, robots, music, and a healthy amount of organised chaos.
