We were delighted to welcome Sir Charles to deliver our pre-lunch keynote speech. He chaired the RAFA Nimrod enquiry and acted as counsel at the Manchester air disaster, M1 Kegsorth, Marchioness and Herald of Free Enterprise investigations. He talked in detail about his findings from the Nimrod enquiry, as well as his wider reflections on systems and organisational cultures and their roles in accidents. His in-depth knowledge and engaging style of delivery (which used only a minimal number of PowerPoint slides, a fact he was very keen to point out!) provided one of the best talks we have ever seen at the EHF conference.
